The 200-Hour Residential Yoga Teacher Training at Atma Yoga Shala (AYS) is a complete immersion into the classical science of Hatha Yoga, in the tradition of Vinyasa Krama, Sivananda, Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions designed to build a strong, embodied foundation in practice, philosophy, and teaching.
Set in a focused residential environment, this training allows you to step away from daily distractions and live yoga fully from morning sadhana to evening Yoga Nidra.

What You Will Learn
Asana Practice in Vinyasa Krama Style – With inspirations from Iyengar and Ashtanga Method.
- Alignment based Dynamic asana practice
- Breath centred vinyasa & static holds
- Breath awareness in each posture
- Standing, seated, supine, prone, balancing & inverted sequences (12 Sequences as listed in VK )
- Modifications, counter-poses
- Safe and Efficient use of props for each posture
Pranayama, Meditation & Yoga Nidra.
- Pancha Prana and its functions
- Classical pranayama techniques from Hatha Yoga Pradipika

Is this 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Yoga Alliance certified?
Yes. Upon successful completion of all assessments, you will receive an internationally recognised RYT 200 certification, enabling you to teach yoga globally, in accordance with Yoga Alliance standards.
Do I need prior yoga teaching experience to join this course?
No teaching experience is required. This program is designed for beginners as well as dedicated practitioners who want to build a strong foundation in asana, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology.
What does a residential yoga teacher training involve?
A residential TTC is a fully immersive experience, where students live, practice, study, and reflect together. Daily life follows a yogic routine, allowing deeper integration of learning without everyday distractions.
What if I cannot perform certain yoga postures?
That is completely fine. You will be taught modifications, prop usage, and functional alignment. This course focuses on learning how to teach safely, not on achieving advanced postures.
How will I be assessed during the course?
Assessment includes:

- Teaching exam
- Viva (oral exam) for chanting
- Attendance for Personal practice, observation & internship components Certification is awarded only after successful completion of all components.
Can I repeat this 200-hour course again in the future?
Yes. If you wish to re-attend the training for deeper learning or refinement, you may repeat the course once in the next two years subject to availability. Many students revisit the program to strengthen their foundation or reconnect with the practice.
