How is your awareness level today?
In the first part, we tried to cultivate awareness.
By now you should have known this is not rocket science but a matter of practice.
Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s not, but the best part is that we tried.
So, where does this lead us to?
Continuous stream of awareness, it takes us to awareness in its fullness.
Where is this space we operate from?
Where are, we watching our breath from?
We will discover that soon enough.
Before exploring that, let’s try awareness cultivation with different focus points.
Focus point 1– (We tried it before)
Breath is just one tool; you can use different tool to fine tune your awareness. If you are comfortable with Inhale/Exhale, continue it to lengthen your period of awareness.
(Check out Meditation demystified part one in the blog section, if you don’t understand what I mean. This article is a continuation of Part one.)
Always remember quality is more important than quantity.
You can sit for one hour just day dreaming or just be present completely for 10 breaths. The latter is tough and it will guide you to fine tune your awareness.
Focus point 2-
We can use a sound like repeating a mantra like the pranava mantra AUM, and direct all your energy there and count how many mantras you stayed totally focused.
Or you can make your own focus mantra.
I use Om,
Om Namah Shivaya (I am big fan of Shiva) and
Aham, meaning I am.
you can use any mantra of your choice.
You chose where you direct your awareness to;
Focus Point 3-
You can use light, either using a candle light or imagine a ball of light in between your eyebrow, but this gets a little tough, I would recommend to stick to sound and breath as the first steps towards cultivating awareness.
We can progress to subtler ones as we practice and increase the period of awareness.
So, the task for today is to try one of these or (If you have time) all three of these for two to five minutes and see which comes easy and which resonates more with you.
It’s very important to start with something which resonates with you.
Good luck and tell me about your experience.
You have progressed from 1 – 5 minutes.
This is gaining good momentum.
Stay tuned and practice more before we go to the next step.
Love and only Love,
Joshna
